Event Description

Vikki Petraitis is a bestselling author and chart-topping true crime podcaster based in Melbourne. In this limited monthly series, spend an hour with Vikki as we explore true crimes that shocked the state.

June 1993 was the beginning of a reign of terror for residents of Frankston, Victoria. It began when 18-year-old, Elizabeth Stevens, was murdered on her way home from the bus stop. Next, young mother, Debbie Fream was abducted on a short trip to the shops. Three weeks later, Year 12 student, Natalie Russell, was brutally murdered on her way home from school.

The killer, Paul Denyer, was captured and sentenced to life in prison. More than thirty years on, the trauma of his seven-week killing spree still haunts the community. Award-winning crime writer Vikki Petraitis was on patrol with police the night the final murder took place. Her bestselling book, 'The Frankston Murders, which has never been out of print, and her podcast serves as a chilling reminder for the world of why Denyer must never be released.

Please note: This event discusses topics such as murder and assault.
