Melton Library & Learning Hub
Event Description
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn all about the intricate art of woodblock carving. This session is perfect for beginners - no artistic or woodworking experience is required.
By the end of this session, you will be able to: choose the right timber and tools for your project, secure your work for carving, sharpen your tools, and make a variety of different cuts. You will leave with a finished carved woodblock that can be used to reprint your unique design on paper or textiles.
Olivia is an accomplished carver who specialises in woodcarving, handmade rocking horses and rocking horse restoration. She has studied Furniture Design and Construction, as well as Prop Making, traditional wooden carousel carving, and 16th Century pattern carving.
