Australian Poetry Slam Workshop

A poetry slam is a place for all voices. Whether you're new to poetry or looking to perfect your craft, this workshop is the perfect way to prepare for the Australian Poetry Slam’s Melton Heat. Come along and learn everything you need to know with poet and creative mentor, Megan J Riedl.

Megan is a nationally recognised spoken word performer. Megan was awarded Queensland Poetry’s 2021 XYZ Innovation in Spoken Word Prize, and was an Australian Poetry Slam Victorian State Finalist for three years running. Megan has performed spoken word across the state, from Eureka Centre to Fed Square, and exhibited writing from the Immigration Museum to a vending machine at Geelong Library. A master facilitator, Megan has a teaching qualification and has delivered creative workshops for a range of clients including libraries, schools and theatre companies.
