Event Description

The search is on for the next Australian Poetry Slam (APS) Champion.

Poets: You will have two minutes on the mic to share an original poem. Visit the APS website for rules and conditions.

Audience: Cheer on and vote for your favourite artists.

Our winner will move on to perform at the APS National Final at Sydney Opera House in October. The 2025 National Slambassador will tour Australasia sharing their creativity and inspiring others to speak their own poetry.

Bookings are required for all entrants and audience members. You can select your ticket type when booking.

This year's heat will be hosted by Megan J Riedl.

Megan is a nationally recognised spoken word performer who has exhibited across Victoria. Megan was awarded Queensland Poetry’s 2021 XYZ Innovation in Spoken Word Prize, and is a three-time Australian Poetry Slam Victorian State Finalist.

A master facilitator and qualified teacher, Megan has delivered workshops for a range of clients including libraries, schools and theatre companies. Megan’s powerful style of performance poetry fearlessly gives voice to the secret stories we tell ourselves and creates compelling calls to action.
