Event Description

Tarang Chawla is an award-winning advocate, writer, and Commissioner with the Victorian Multicultural Commission. After the murder of his sister Niki in 2015, Tarang founded Not One More Niki to prevent men’s violence against women and to create spaces for honest conversations about respect, gender, and accountability.

In this keynote, Tarang shares his personal story and explores what meaningful allyship looks like in practice – in workplaces, communities, and homes. With warmth, insight, and a touch of humour, he invites audiences to move beyond awareness toward collective action that builds a safer, more equal world for everyone.

This event is to mark the '16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence' campaign. Every year, communities around the world join the call to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls. Visit the Safe + Equal website to learn more about this years' campaign.
