Event Description

Join us this NAIDOC week to celebrate First Nations authors, writing and poetry with writer, Jake Duggan.

Jake Duggan is an easily-moved-to-tears writer and poet who can't leave the comfort of Melbourne's western suburbs. He uses writing as a tool for highlighting perspectives that are often under-represented in mainstream media. Jake's writing is influenced by heritage, with a focus on race, food, and wealth. Jake believes that poetry, rap, and country are the same and that everyone should listen to all three.

In this interactive workshop, Jake will explore the work of First Nations authors and poets and will lead a series of writing prompts to inspire and ignite your imagination.
