Event Description

Vegemite is turning 100 years old this year!

Did you know that World War Two rescued Vegemite's creators from financial ruin after decades of dismal sales? Limerick competitions, car giveaways, and free coupons failed to convince many Australians that a jar of Vegemite belonged on their kitchen shelves. So how did the unappetising spread become so popular a century later, for breakfast, lunch and tea?

Learn all about the fascinating story behind Vegemite with Historian Dr Hannah Viney.
