Event Description

Every year on 26 May, National Sorry Day remembers and acknowledges the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, which we now know as ‘The Stolen Generations’.

It is a day to reflect on how we can all play a part in the healing process for our people and nation.

Join us this Sorry Day to hear from Author Coral Voss, writer of the picture book 'Sorry Day'. Coral will talk about her book, the importance of saying sorry and the many ways we can become true allies to our First Nations communities.

You can also view historical footage about the Stolen Generation and the National Apology at our film installation, and Sign a Sorry Day card to receive a Native Hibiscus seed to plant at home.
