Push yourself out of your nest. 2023 Australian Poetry Slam Champion, Rob Waters and 2023 Co-Champion, K.J. Hayward, will help you migrate your thoughts to the page, become an eagled-eyed editor and take flight on stage. Spread your words at the Melton Poetry Slam for your chance to win a prize worth $20,000 including publication and international touring.

Rob Waters is the 2023 Australian Poetry Slam Champion. He’s a Gomeroi poet, storyteller, cultural educator and spoken word artist performing and sharing Story for over 20 years. Rob has deep cultural connections to the North West of New South Wales. He is a proud father and grandfather living on Darkinjung Country.
