Event Description

This winter, enjoy an afternoon of chilling stories from the remarkable mind of author J. Ashley Smith on his Victorian tour. Cosy up in the library with your friends, hot drinks in hand, to hear about his latest book, 'The Measure of Sorrow'.

J. Ashley Smith is an award-winning British–Australian writer of dark fiction and co-host of the 'Let The Cat In' podcast. 'The Measure of Sorrow' is J.'s first short story collection, drawing together ten stories of dark speculative fiction, including both new and previously acclaimed works.

J. was born in Cambridge, and spent his childhood hiding with imaginary companions in the foundations of an Edwardian townhouse. He studied film and creative writing, then lost fifteen years to the British indie music scene, clothed in unfashionable sweaters, releasing unpopular records. He now lives with his wife and two sons in the suburbs of North Canberra.
