Event Description

January 23, 1924 started out like any other day at the Melbourne Botanic Gardens. It ended with a gunman on the run after shooting five people, killing three. The search for the killer transfixed the nation.

Who was the gunman? How did he escape? And what could bring someone to commit such a terrible crime? Could the new science of psychology explain such heinous actions? Come along and find out in this intriguing presentation by our own Family and Local History Librarian, Dr Peter Minard.
