Event Description

To celebrate the theme of 'Keep the fire burning! Blak, loud and proud', teens can come along to Caroline Springs Library this NAIDOC Week for a special workshop with Amanda from Wax Treasures Feathers.

Amanda is a proud Yuin nations woman who has been raised on Wurundjeri Country. She is a mother, artist, creative, cultural workshop facilitator and jewellery designer who has even had her works appear on the red carpet at the Oscars (Academy Awards).

This NAIDOC Week she will be bringing art, cultural artefacts, wisdom and passion to the library where she will help you create your own special piece of jewellery that you can take home and wear.

NAIDOC Week (National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee) occurs annually in July, and celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
