Safe Cat, Safe Wildlife with author Tanya Loos
Thursday 21 May 2026 at 6:30PM
Melton Library & Learning Hub
Event Description
Do you share your home with a four-legged feline friend? We love our cats here at Melton, and we love our wildlife too. That’s why Melton City Libraries is joining Safe Cat, Safe Wildlife, a community dedicated to protecting cats and wildlife.
Ecologist, science writer, naturalist and Avian Influenza Response Coordinator at BirdLife Victoria, Tanya Loos joins us to discuss some of the most common wildlife we are likely to find in the local area, and how we can help to keep them safe from our beloved cats. Tanya is the author of the Whitley Award winning book ‘Living with Wildlife. A Guide for our Homes and Backyards’, and loves sharing knowledge about living harmoniously with animals.
One lucky attendee will walk away with a 1.2m freestanding Catnets enclosure. All attendees will automatically enter the prize draw, and the winner will be randomly chosen at the end of the event.
