Event Description

Are you entering the Melton City Libraries Short Story Competition?

Get all the tips and tricks you need to help you write a winning entry in this very special session with author, Demet Divaroren.

We're thrilled to welcome Demet as our Teen category judge for the 21st annual Short Story Competition!

Demet is the award-winning author of 'Living on Hope Street' and co-editor of the CBCA shortlisted anthology 'Growing up Muslim in Australia'. Demet’s unique voice shapes her stories which explore multiculturalism, cross-cultural relationships, racism, injustice, gender-based oppression, and what it means to be human.

In this special presentation, Demet will share her passion for storytelling and the power of words in fostering human connection. Ask her about her journey, and what shapes her writing, to help shape yours.
